Movies, and movies on DVD in particular, have become such a part of our lives. We spend our dates watching movies, we watch movies with our kids, we make movie nights a part of our holiday routines, we gift DVDs and we collect DVDs.
There are many different movie clubs that you can sign up for. We are all familiar with Blockbuster, Netflix and Red Box. Here are another few DVD clubs you may want to check out.
* Columbia House DVD club. When you become a member of this DVD club, you will actually be buying movies. They have thousands of DVDs in stock, with a great variety of genres that you can choose from. Also, you can sign up for “director’s selection”. This means that you will get a top-pick movie shipped to you every month. You can try the membership for free for 10 days.
* Disney Movie Club. Disney Movie Club has been around for a long time, yet not many people are using it. It actually offers very good deals on movies, compared to super market prices or Blockbuster prices. When you first become a member, you get 4 movies for $1.99 plus free shipping. Afterwards, you are offered DVDs at their regular prices. What’s cool about the site is that you can watch movie demos online, play online games, listen to music and do all sorts of other activities.
* DVD Avenue. This online movies store is a lot like Netflix. Plans start at $9.99 and there are no commitments, you can cancel the membership any time. As Netflix, they cover shipping both ways and you can rent as many DVDs as you want and keep them as long as you want. They do seem to get certain movies faster than Netflix. They will send you the DVDs in your queue automatically and you can temporarily suspend service at any time.
